The Bible is one of the most famous religious books and the cornerstone of the Christian religion, but it has more meaning than just what it means to be Christian. Beyond the books, stories, and psalms, there is an underlying tone. The Bible teaches us to love and respect one another, to be good, honest, and just. These are not just lessons for Christians, but lessons that anyone of any religion can adopt. Here are some of our favorite Bible coloring books that anyone of any religion can enjoy and learn from.
The Psalms in Color
This adult coloring book published by Christian Art Publishers features 55 original coloring designs each giving you the opportunity to color a specific psalm from the Bible. Each psalm depicted in this coloring book is beautifully designed and surrounded by a light design which is often floral in nature. The designs are fun to color but many lack intricacy and detail.
The designs in this adult coloring book are printed single sided on lightly perforated pages. Along with the full page designs this book also includes 7 pages of cards, bookmarks, and gift tags that you can also color. The paper used for this coloring book is smooth, crisp white, and of good quality. Most pens will not bleed through but alcohol based markers will so we advise using a space piece of paper in between pages to keep from any severe bleed through ruining any of the other designs.
Color The Gospel
Beautifully designed and printed by Inspired to Grace this adult coloring book features 108 pages of designs inspired by scripture from the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Of the 3 coloring books in this post this is the most “Christian” of the three but does not mean that it can’t be enjoyed by people of all beliefs and backgrounds. Some of the verses included are “A new command I give you: Love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another”, and provers like “A good name is more desirable than all the riches”.
The designs in this adult coloring book are printed single sided with the back of every page colored black in order to mask bleed through. An interesting detail in this coloring book is that every design has 2 copies that are reversed, what is black on one is white on it’s copy. This is a nice detail since it allows you to color the same design but with a twist, however it is important to note that you are essentially receiving half the designs. Another interesting thing is that the cover of the book is not what is advertised. The cover is not of inferior quality and still looks nice but does not have the fun floral design on what is advertised. We recommend using only colored pencils in this coloring since we found that any ink, whether from a pen or marker, will bleed through.
Beauty in The Bible
A wonderful coloring book by Paige Tate & Co. Beauty in The Bible includes 24 original coloring designs each of which featuring a selection of verses of encouragement and love. The verses are written in different fonts from simple to more ornate and all the verses are surrounded by designs that range from simple to more complex. The designs surrounding accompanying the verses range in subject, some are floral and frame the verse itself while others are bikes, flowers in a vase, hearts, or even umbrellas.
The designs in this adult coloring book are printed single sided on medium weight white paper. Some of the verses included in this book are: “Let all that you do be done in love”, “Be kind to one another”, and “My cup overflows with your blessings”. Although the paper used in this book is of medium weight pens, and markers of all sorts will bleed through so we highly suggest using a spare piece of paper in between pages to soak up any severe bleed through and protect the rest of the design in the book.
We hope that no matter what your religious background and beliefs are you will enjoy these coloring books. As always we appreciate you and Happy Coloring!’
