I have a confession to make, I love cars! I love everything about them, the way a good car looks, the speed, and most of all the freedom that your own set of wheels gives you. The thing is however, I have no idea how to fix one. It’s pretty sad because most people think that since I can rattle off the horsepower and torque stats of a certain car I should be able to fix them when something goes wrong, but that’s just not the part about cars I love. That’s why I was so excited when these car coloring books came across my desk. They are the perfect coloring book for me and all those other car fans that love the looks and fun facts about their favorite rides.

American Muscle Cars, 1960-1975

The 60’s and 70’s were the heyday of American muscle. Big engine up front with and rear wheel drive it was a recipe for love at first. This coloring book published by Dover with illustrations by Bruce LaFontaine depicts 44 of the most famous and beautiful muscle cars from that era. Inside this book you will find cars like the 1962 Ford Thunderbird, 1964 Corvette Stingray, and 1968 Chevy Impala SS 427 among many more. One of my favorite thing about this coloring book is that each coloring page also has a residential or urban backdrop that really helps to bring you back to the 60’s and 70’s.

These car coloring pages are printed back to back which does mean that you will get some bleed through when using gel pens and especially markers. We suggest you use colored pencils but if you want to use markers the illustrations can be photocopied and printed single sided images allowing you to color each page without ruining the illustration on the back.

Luxury Cars Adult Coloring Book

Sometimes when I drive along in my 15 year old car I like to imagine I am driving a Ferrari, it doesn’t matter that there is a weird clicking noise coming from the back or that the gas gauge doesn’t work anymore, for those few seconds I am driving a very fast luxury sports car. Coloring this coloring book will make you feel the same way. With this coloring book you get 32 pages filled with luxury sports cars like the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Coupe, BMW Z8 Convertible, Maserati Spyder 2-door Roadster and many more. Coloring the car coloring pages will also help you brush up on your knowledge of these beautiful machines since every illustration comes with a short paragrapher featuring fun facts about that specific car.

Once again this coloring book is made by Dover and the designs are printed back to back on lower quality paper which allows ink to bleed through the paper to the other side sometimes ruining the design on the back. Although markers are a lot of fun colored pencils are the best option here.

Classic Cars Adult Coloring Book

If you are having difficulty choosing between the Muscle Car and Luxury Car coloring book I understand you completely since I was having the same difficulties, which why this coloring book once again printed by Dover is such a great option. This coloring book has it all, from classics and muscle cars, to modern speed machines, you will find all the most beautiful cars in this coloring book that has more than 100 pages of designs packed in between the covers. Once again each car coloring page comes with a short paragraph of information about the car on the page.

The downside of this coloring book is once again the thin paper but along with that many of the pages feature not just the car and back drop but a person. My thought is that they put the person in there to be used to show the size of the car but I think it really takes away from the “poster” appeal of these coloring designs.
